California-based Oklo Submits Plan for Nuclear Fuel Recycling Facility

Oklo Inc. has presented plans for a nuclear fuel recycling facility to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC.)

The commercial-scale facility will be a step forward in advanced recycling facilities that produce fuel from spent fuel. The U.S. Department of Energy selected the company's project as one of three other projects it green lighted.

In March 2020, Oklo achieved the first combined license application for an advanced plant in Aurora.
