Nepal Army Plans to Collect 10 Tons of Waste from Mt Everest Region

Litter spread across Mt Everest has been a hot topic as of late, and to address this issue, the Nepal Army is stepping in.

The Nepal Army is planning to collect left behind waste from climbers on Mt Everest as part of the Clean Himalaya Campaign starting this year. This initiative will also cover Mt Lhotse and Mt Nuptse.

The Army announced over the weekend that its plan is to collect 10 tons of waste from the mountains and as many as five dead bodies. The trained crew will collect waste from the Base Camp area up to the Fourth Camp on Mt Everest.

The waste collection will begin April 11 and run for 50 days.
