The North East Lincholshire Council in Grimsby, UK has approved a waste tire processing plant.

The new plant will sit on 10 acres of land in Grimsby on vacant land in Great Coates Business Park off Energy Park Way. According to the Local Democrazy Reporting Service, the plant is expected to process nearly 25,000 tonnes of end-of-the-life tires and save 60,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually.

The facility anticipates creating roughly 120 jobs, according to Fluid Ice Family Office Ltd.

"Currently there are limited outlets for recycled tyre products and an excess of waste tyres creates a fly-tipping problem with costs to the environment and the taxpayer,” said Great Coates Village Council.

At first, the Great Coates Village Council opposed the facility over concerns of the impact of wildlife and possible odors. However, the council came around to the plans after a presentation put on by Fluid Ice.
