Amid the pandemic, businesses are pivoting with creative solutions to serve customers. With a significant increase in the need for face masks and shields, many companies saw an opportunity to produce protective gear to meet the demand.
For example, Emilia George, a sustainable clothing and accessories brand for moms, quickly produced tens of thousands of masks to meet customers' needs and to donate a lot of masks to childcare centers around the nation in the Spring of 2020. In addition, the company won a federal contract to provide more than 120,000 customized masks for the National Institute of Health (NIH) and thousands of masks for a school in Brooklyn. The company is in the process of negotiating a federal contract to produce another 100,000 masks for federal employees.
