Wake County Landfill to Meet Capacity by 2040

North Carolina's Wake County landfill is slated to reach capacity by 2040.Officials are seeking solutions as it continues to fill. However, there is no room for additional acreage or another location.

The landfill receives up to 175 loads of trash per day. Around 72 percent of the waste can be diverted. Officials say consumer education is at the top of their priorities to slow this growing problem.
