Waco OKs Engineering for Solid Waste Transfer Station on University Parks

Waco City Council approves a $316,000 contract to move landfills to a location in Axtell; not parallel to the previous one.

This contract is believed to be the costliest portion of the relocation process. The new facility is expected to be running within the next two to four years. The council is examining a number of benefits to justify the move as well as ways to cut back on costs elsewhere to help with the financial blow of the large project.
