NSWMA Announces Driver Training Sites

The Washington-based National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) has announced it will offer its driver training program Feb. 2-3 in Phoenix and Feb. 5 in Las Vegas.

The free two-hour sessions will provide refuse truck drivers classroom and simulator training that will focus on space management, backing and other driving issues. Phoenix-based Republic Services will host the sessions at its facilities in each city.

“NSWMA’s simulator-based driver training program in March 2008 was very well-received and attended,” said David Biderman, NSWMA safety director, in a press release. “We look forward to providing additional training to public and private sector drivers in the Southwest next month, and appreciate Republic hosting these important training events.”
