Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- Republic Services Inc. has reported net income of $44.7 million or 28 cents per share, for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2003. Net income for the same period one year ago was $62.2 million or 38 cents per share. Operating income for the quarter was $87.3 million compared to $118.2 million for the same period in 2002.
