National Movement to Turn Food Waste Into Renewable Energy Gains Momentum

In 2020 the Farm Powered Strategic Alliance (FPSA) alliance was established by Vanguard Renewables, Unilever, Starbucks, and Dairy Farmers of America aiming to reduce food waste and transform the food waste that is created into renewable energy with farm-based anaerobic digesters.

Recently Chobani, Kikkoman Foods Inc., Schreiber Foods, Hillebrand, and Polar Beverages joined the group of environmentally conscious companies. Each of these brands has its own set of goals regarding waste reduction and the idea of circular economy, and the FPSA is there to support them in bringing these goals to fruition.
