International leader in battery materials and technology, Regenerate Technology Global, has secured a long-term lease on a new facility in Glasgow, Scotland.

The new 50,000-square-foot facility is still awaiting proper permitting, but the space will enable Regenerate to process and refine lithium-ion and alkaline batteries. The facility will also focus on processing portable batteries, transforming them into black mass.

“Glasgow will be a showcase for our cutting-edge technology in lithium-ion battery upcycling, and this operation will make us a leader in the UK market. We also have our eyes trained on the European Union and the United States, where we plan to replicate the success, we will have in Glasgow. OEMs and other battery manufacturers are looking for international recycling partners that can be a one-stop shop for all their recycling needs. We aim to offer them a compelling option,” said Dr. David Batstone, co-founder and CEO of Regenerate.
