Glass Half Full, a New Orleans-based glass recycling program, first announced plans to launch in Birmingham in November 2023 and now plans to expand to those neighborhoods in March 2024. The company will be running its subscription-based program in Five Points South, Highland Park, Lakeview District, Forest Park, and Crestwood.

Also, Glass Half Full is opening a facility in North Birmingham that will serve as a free drop-off site for all residents.
