The Thermostat Recycling Corporation, Rosslyn, Va., and the Product Stewardship Institute, Boston, have announced the nationwide expansion of the five-state thermostat recycling program. Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Washington and Florida participated in the pilot program that ended last year and recycled more than 3,000 mercury thermostats from residents and their heating and cooling contractors free of charge.
