After banning textiles from being thrown away, Southampton, Mass. has seen a record amount of textiles recycled last year.

According to the Town of Southampton, the weight of textiles had a dramatic increase in 2023 as the town recycled 22,210 pounds of textiles.

For every pound of textiles collected in Southampton, $0.05 is deposited into the Transfer Station Enterprise Fund as recycling revenue to offset the fees users pay at the Transfer Station.
