Sector Lead LLC is preparing to unveil its groundbreaking Waste to Energy project in Nigeria that will help address the nation’s waste management and energy crisis.

In Nigeria, there are two major issues affecting the nation, those being the waste management crisis and the growing need for reliable and sustainable energy sources. Due to Nigeria’s rapid population increase and urbanization, the nation is struggling to keep up with the increase in waste production.

This waste issue is leading to other problems for Nigerians, such as an increase in pollution, health hazards, and inefficient resource utilization.

The new project with Sector Lead plans to convert waste materials into valuable energy resources. This will take some pressure off landfills and provide sustainable electricity for communities.

The project’s pilot will begin in Abuja, Nigeria with the objected to build an innovative system for waste management, creating value from the waste being generated. Energy will be produced from the waste management system, generating a minimum of 50 Megawatts of clean electricity. This will culminate in the delivery of The First Zero Waste Green Smart Sustainable Federal Capital Territory in Africa, the first of its kind.

Some of the key benefits touted from the waste to energy projects include environmental sustainability, job creation and socio-economic benefits, clean energy generation, community engagement and awareness, and sustainable transformative health benefits for all.
