Bumble Bee Seafood Committed to Protecting the Ocean

The Bumble Bee Seafood Company has committed $40 million through an Accelerator Fund to help restore and protect the health of the world’s oceans and reduce the use of plastics over the next five years. 

The Fund will be used to create new ideas, partners and technologies such as a Fishery Improvement Project in the Indian Ocean, a plant-based protein alternative, extending Bumble Bee’s partnership with Global Ghost Gear Initiative; and eliminating plastic shrink on its packaging. The Fund will also be used to advance current initiatives.

In addition, Bumble Bee is collaborating with World Oceans Day.
