Allpay cards, a UK-based card manufacturer, is moving forwarding with its sustainability initiative for lowering the environmental impact of card production.

Mastercard and Visa payment cards have adopted recycled PVC for its card production. This is a notable change for the industry as it reduces plastic waste and supports a circular economy, all while maintaining the quality of its products.

Using PVC in card manufacturing reduces greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption and decreases CO2 emissions. It’s estimated that about two kilograms of CO2 will be saved for every kilogram of recycled PVC used. Additionally, natural resources are preserved as less virgin PVC is used. Plus, PVC can be used multiple times without compromising the quality of the products.

Officials at allplay cards have made their intention clear that the company is committed to reducing its overall ecological footprint. Along with the use of PVC in its cards, the company provides a handful of sustainable offerings that include 100% biodegradable letters and envelopes, FSC accredited paper for packaging solutions, as well as reducing water and energy consumption during production.
