Rumpke Consolidated Companies Inc. said its service will be delayed throughout central Ohio for several days because of a train derailment and explosion in Columbus near a company facility.

Cincinnati-based Rumpke said in a news release customers will be impacted in Franklin, Delaware and Union counties, as well as the city of Pickerington.

The company said service will be delayed one day and return to normal the week of July 16.

Fire officials evacuated Rumpke’s facility as a safety precaution. No employees were injured.

The Rumpke Columbus facility includes atruck depot, recycling facility, waste transfer station, portable restroom division, maintenance garages and administrative offices.
