SSI Shredding Systems Inc., Wilsonville, Ore., has introduced the 2500-HD and 4500-HD series of high-density, pre-load compactors. Both deliver municipal solid waste (MSW) compaction densities of up to 1,200 pounds per cubic yard, process up to 150 tons of MSW per hour, and have payloads of up to 40 tons, according to the company. Control units display data that track the length and weight of bales, monitor compaction pressures, record production and display compactor operation.

Geosynthetics

Hancor

Terrafiber geosynthetics from Hancor Inc., Findlay, Ohio, include woven geosynthetics, a filter sock and a silt fence. The woven geosynthetics, made from ultraviolet (UV)-stabilized silt film or monofilament yarns, are used for encapsulation in leachate collection systems for landfills, as well as for sediment control, soil stabilization and separation.

The HC 2410 heavy duty recycler from Peterson Pacific Co., Eugene, Ore., is a crawler track-mounted grinder powered by a 460-horsepower (hp) diesel engine. The grinder includes a horizontal feed conveyor that works with a crushing feed roller to continuously feed material to the grinder. Designed for processing green waste, land-clearing debris, construction debris and other organic materials, the HC 2410 also features a rotary drum grinder to process high-moisture-content materials.
