ACS Group, Wood Dale, Ill., produces the F615 two-shaft shredder. The unit offers 15 horsepower (hp) direct, electric drive and weighs 3,145 pounds. According to the company, features include 57 blades, a contoured chamber, oil-bath lubrication, through-tempered cutters, hexagonal shaft design and touch-pad controls. Production rates average between 900 and 1,400 pounds per hour, the company says.

According to the company, the Breaker is designed to handle high production rates and to automatically separate iron and aluminum materials. The slow speed, high torque unit comes with a 75 hp to 100 hp hydraulic or electrical drive package. Other features include an auto-reverse cycle and replaceable cast alloy steel cutters.

The product comes with replaceable cutter hooks to rip and tear paper prior to shredding, according to the company. The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) auto-eye allows for a control-based master start and stop conveyor operation to regulate the amount of paper entering the system. The product also comes with a metal detection system.

A 64-inch by 76-inch shredder opening feeds material to a 15-inch diameter counter-meshing rotor. Hooked star shredders are mounted to the rotor in a spiral pattern. The unit features welded construction, hydraulic drive, an electronically controlled auto-reversing rotor system and a 48-inch-wide continuous belt discharge conveyor, the company says.

Shredders process materials such as C&D debris, carpet, wood waste, yard debris, MSW and industrial waste up to 80 tph and can achieve up to 70 percent volume reduction, the company says. The unit's open grate design allows fines, such as rock and dirt, to fall through the cutting table without causing wear on the cutters, according to the company. The Primary Waste Reducer line is available in stationary and mobile configurations, and with one or two shafts.
