Consortium Working to Develop New Technologies to Reduce Plastic Waste

Plastic has become ever-present in our life. Yet, only approximately 8.4 percent of plastic is recycled.

To address this issue, researchers at the Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory are joining the Bio-Optimized Technologies to keep Thermoplastics out of Landfills and the Environment (BOTTLE) Consortium to solve this environmental problem.

Together the laboratories involved with the Consortium will work together to develop new, scalable technologies with a goal of reducing plastic waste.
