The National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA) has added Tiffany Jones as its new director of certification.
The Washington-based NW&RA said Jones will continue development of current certification efforts and create new ones, according to a news release.
NW&RA launched its first certification effort, Certified Safe Drivers, for recycling and waste truck drivers in June. Future certification programs may include those for front-line supervisors; facilities, such as material recovery facilities (MRFs); or processes, such as recycling.
“This moves us forward as an association,” said Sharon Kneiss, NW&RA president and CEO. “The certification process she is spearheading should help us establish a leadership position in promoting safety and providing quality education for key aspects of industry performance.”
Jones has more than seven years of experience in training and certification. She most recently worked as the product manager for training and certification at DecisionHealth in Gaithersburg, Md., directing development, launch and implementation of 21 new online training courses. She previously worked for the firm as director for online training and certification and as assistant director of certification.
She received a bachelor’s degree from Hampton University in Hampton, Va.
