Farmers in West Virginia Utilize Paper Waste

Agriculture in West Virginia has a new option for soil nutrients: paper waste.

DS Smith has assisted in connecting supply chains to provide biochar from paper mills. Farmers now spread about 2 tons of the biochar per acre, which the company supplements with wood ash that aids crop yields.
