Waste Management Partners Up for Seattle Recycling Program

Houston-based Waste Management has announced a recycling partnership with Cedar Grove Organics Recycling, Seattle, aimed at increasing recycling efforts at a prominent Seattle shopping center. The partnership, called “Erasing the Waste at Pacific Place,” is an effort to reduce the downtown shopping center’s carbon footprint. According to a press release, the program will reduce the total greenhouses gases by 2,300 tons per year and annually divert more than 1,000 tons from area landfills.

“Erasing the Waste at Pacific Place is one of the most comprehensive recycling programs to be implemented by a major shopping center,” said Susan Robinson, director of public sector services for Waste Management’s Western Group, in a press release.
