China Provides Extension For Scrap Metal Exporters

Washington, D.C. — The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China has extended the registration deadline for companies that directly contract with companies located in China to buy scrap metal, according to the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc., Washington, D.C. The new deadline to submit an application is July 20. Companies that don’t submit by that date will have to wait until 2005 at the earliest to do so.
