BFI Canada Changes Its Name

Toronto-based BFI Canada Ltd. has changed its name to IESI-BFC Ltd. BFI Canada purchased IESI in late 2004, and the company’s U.S. operations have used the IESI name since then.

Effective June 1, the company’s ticker symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange will change to BIN.

“As we expand our presence in the North American market, we are pleased to have a corporate name that reflects our entire business and a trading symbol for our common shares that will be used on the TSX and eventually on the NYSE,” said Keith Carrigan, vice chairman and chief executive officer of IESI-BFC, in a press release.
