Class Action Lawsuit Emerges in Moody Landfill Fire Incident

Residents living close to the Moody landfill have filed a lawsuit against its owners and operators 

An underground fire at the site has been burning for almost two months. The suit alleges that Environmental Landfill Inc, the landfill's owners, have allowed it to become an "illegal unauthorized dump site" that is polluting nearby homes and businesses.

The lawsuit was filed last month. It references inspection reports from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Residents have reported sore throats, eyes burning and shortness of breath.
