Was Moody Landfill Fire Intentionally Set?

An official is calling the Moody Landfill fire a crime scene. 

St. Clair County Commission Chairman Stan Batemon said an investigation will be launched once the 25-acre underground fire is extinguished. Although vegetable debris is accepted, officials aren't sure what types of waste are burning beneath the surface.

The landfill is not subject to oversight some other sites received because of the waste accepted. Prior inspections have revealed "unauthorized" waste dumped at the site such as tires and appliances.
