Seven Mile Creek Landfill Expansion Officially Negotiated After 4 Year Process

For four years the Seven Mile Creek Landfill Siting Committee and GFL Environmental have negotiated a proposed landfill expansion. The negotiation has finally been made official and will be moving on to the next steps of reviewal.

After four years of negotiation, the Seven Mile Creek Landfill Siting Committee and GFL Environmental have finally come to an agreement on the Seven Mile Creek Landfill expansion. Originally planning to add  60 feet to the maximum height, the proposal went through a review process and harsh critique. The final negotiation of the deal has allotted for an additional 33 feet to be added to the maximum height, as opposed to the proposed 60. 

The Town of Seymour is hosting a town meeting on Sept. 26 to allow residents a space to express opinions and concerns.
