Republic Services Seeks to Expand Middle Point Landfill

Residents of Murfreesboro, Tenn. are opposing a planned 100-acre expansion of the Middle Point Landfill.

The city aims to go to court for the right to stop the plans proposed by Republic Services. According to Elizabeth Murphy, a land use specialist lawyer and consultant for the Murfreesboro, the city has been planning for year to close the landfill.

Officials have requested construction plans and a right of refusal.
