New Orleans Residents Win $75 Million Settlement After Homes Built on Toxic Landfill

New Orleans residents living in two communities - Gordon Plaza and Press Park - are set to receive a $75 million settlement after their homes were constructed on what became a federal Superfund site.

The houses as well as a local school were built decades ago on top of the closed Agriculture Street landfill. The settlement will be distributed based on the number of years the resident has lived in their home.
