Mess Still Big at Landfill One Year After October Snow StormMess Still Big at Landfill One Year After October Snow Storm
October 8, 2014
Last October 3rd and 4th, an unseasonably-early snow storm dropped nearly 16 inches of snow, weighing down trees that had not yet lost their leaves due to a late summer. It created the perfect combination for disaster.
Nearly every tree, in every yard, was damaged and the city and community pulled together to clean up the mess.
Pete Meyers, Assistant Public Services Director said, “I mean if the community wouldn't have come out we might still be digging ourselves out even now, so volunteers were a huge part of it.”
It only took a couple months to clean it all up, and only twigs remain at Casper's biggest dump site off Bryan Stock Trail.
