Maryland Department of the Environment Halts Landfill Permit Processing

The Maryland Department of the Environment has halted the processing of theĀ Odenton rubble landfill following a miscommunication.

TheĀ Odenton rubble landfill was supposed to be located in a residential area. The state agency received a letter in 2018 that indicated the project would be grandfathered in based on a law allowing rubble landfills to operate in residential zones.

According to the county, landfill operators National Waste Managers Inc. have still not yet met the requirements needed to allow the project to go forward.
