Man in Drive-By Shooting at Republic Landfill Claims He Doesn't Remember

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Carters Valley Road Landfill in Church Hill, Tenn. for a drive-by shooting.

Video of the incident shows a red pick-up truck dump trash at the Republic Services-operated landfill and fire shots at a facility building as it exists. Jeremy Scott Hale, the man who allegedly fired the shots, says he doesn't remember the incident because he had been drinking.

A shell casing matching the ones left at the landfill were discovered in Hale's truck after it was stopped the next day.
