Madison, Wisc. Eyes Golf Course for New Landfill

A golf course located in Madison, Wisc. could soon be the location of a new landfill.

The city and Dane County have discussed and agreed on taking half of the Yahara Hills Golf Course and converting it as the city's current landfill comes close to filling up. However, concerns about the new site could make the permitting process longer.

The land was purchased at $24,000 an acre, which is considered to be "undervalued." Construction would not begin until 2028.
