Dothan, Ala. Shutters Landfill Following Landowner Legal Case

An expanded landfill in Dothan, Ala. has closed following a ruling from the Montgomery Circuit Court. 

The site has been an operating since August 2020, but landowners have been battling the landfill's operation. A modification on the site permit was approved in June 2020, but the court ruled last week that the ADEM’s Environmental Management Commission acted above its authority.

Residential pick-up is not expected to be affected.
