Seneca County Supervisors Say ‘No’ to NYC Trash

The regional manager of Seneca Meadows Landfill stepped to the podium Tuesday night, explaining a proposed contract with the New York City Department of Sanitation that would bring garbage by railroad for the next 20 to 30 years.

Kyle Black’s comments, however, did not sway the Seneca County Board of Supervisors.

The board voted unanimously Tuesday to oppose the contract that would ensure Seneca Meadows would be open well beyond 2023, the year the landfill is projected to reach capacity.
