Report: Waste Industry Brings In $75 Billion Annually

A new report by First Research says the U.S. waste management industry brings in about $75 billion in annual revenue. An executive summary of report describes the industry as “highly concentrated,” noting “the eight largest companies account for nearly half of the industry’s total annual revenue.”

Approximately 55 percent of the industry’s revenue comes from collection, while 20 percent comes from treatment and disposal, the report says.
