Blue Sky Bags

Have you seen the recent Glad Bag TV ad? It shows Manhattan under puffy white clouds that upon closer inspection turn out to be masses of inflated white trash bags. It's a striking image, meant to highlight the waste reduction benefit of Glad's new tall kitchen bags that use less plastic. But I wonder if it has an unintended subtext: Using thinner bags is fine and dandy, but seeing those mountains of floating trash just made me want to use fewer bags period. While it's a great source reduction message, I don't imagine it's one that will help pad Glad's bottom line.
