The EPA has fined Cobalt Boats for allegedly committing hazardous waste violations in Kansas.

Cobalt Boats LLC, based in Neodesha, Kansas, must pay $113,780 in civil penalties to resolve the alleged violations of the federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, states the EPA.

"This settlement demonstrates EPA's commitment to protect communities from releases of hazardous waste," said David Cozad, director of EPA Region 7's Enforcement and Compliance Assurance Division. "The Agency is also committed to leveling the playing field for companies that comply with federal law."

The violations were discovered by the EPA during an inspection in February 2022. After the findings, Cobalt Boats took quick action to return to compliance.
