San Diego's New Deal With Private Trash Haulers
The price of trash and recycling collection services will be rising for some communities in San Diego. This agreement was made on Monday by council members and the eight private haulers that service the area.

On Monday, San Diego council members made decisions regarding waste hauling in the city. They met with the eight private hauling companies that serve the city to come to an agreement. A negotiation was made between the council members and haulers to heighten the price of trash collection services to strengthen the recycling program and boost recycling rates. This agreement comes in response to a law across the state requiring higher recycling rates.
