Brooklyn, a resident of Bloomington, Ill., had one birthday wish: to meet her family’s garbage man. Brooklyn has looked up to Delvar since her family can remember, and they often refer to him as their “favorite awesome smiley garbage man.”
Delvar has been collecting garbage from Brooklyn’s home every Thursday, and each week Brooklyn waves to him from her window and gets a big smile and wave in return. This year, Brooklyn was in luck because her birthday happened to fall on a Thursday, making her birthday wish possible.
Brooklyn made a special cupcake for Delvar and finally met the garbage man who she admires so much.
