Middletown, CT Passes 100,000 Lbs. of Collected Food Waste

The city of Middletown, CT has surpassed 100,000 lbs. of food waste collected as part of a program in partnership with Blue Earth Compost.

The number of businesses that opted-in to the program since it began has nearly doubled. About 30 restaurants are now participating, with more indicating interest to be on board.

Recycling Coordinator Kim O'Rourke said that the city plans to expand the program to schools.
