Bulk Handling Systems (BHS), a recycling equipment maker based in Eugene, Ore., has been commissioned by Paris-based SUEZ to design, manufacturer and install equipment for two new recycling plants near Aberdeen, Scotland.
According to BHS, the new commingled recyclables plant will process 60,000 metric tons per year and recover more than 95 percent of recyclables. The plant will also be outfitted with BHS’ latest technology and equipment to sort and collect glass, paper, plastic, aluminum and other materials.
The second plant will produce refuse-derived fuel, but no other information about the deal has been released at this time.

Recycling equipment maker Bulk Handling Systems of Eugene will equip two new recycling plants near Aberdeen, Scotland.
BHS, with 160 Eugene employees, was hired by Paris-based SUEZ to design, engineer, manufacturer and install recycling equipment at two waste recovery facilities south of Aberdeen.
BHS in Eugene and two subsidiaries will produce the equipment for a waste material recovery facility to separate commingled recyclables at the Altens East Industrial Estate outside Aberdeen.
Worldwide recycling markets have been hampered by a unprecedented drop in the price for recyclable materials, which has made it more important for the recycling industry to produce contaminant-free materials.
