Landfills Promise Clues for Historians

Washington – An exhibit at the National Building Museum that opened earlier this month places landfills in the scheme of human history. The show, "Me, Myself and Infrastructure: Private Lives and Public Works," explores the relationship between civil engineering and social history. The exhibit's script says that because landfills do not promote decay, they will be the first places future archaeologists will go for clues about life in the 21st century.
