N.C. Man Clears Waste from Roadsides for 20 Years

To fulfill his mission of helping others and keeping streets free of waste, Terrell Jonas, a 73-year-old resident of Mount Holly, N.C., has been clearing waste from roadsides for 20 years for no cost. Each day, Jonas collects bottles, wrappers, cans, cigarette butts, paper and other waste to fill up to three large trash bags.

When we first met up with Terrell Jonas of Mount Holly, we spent a good deal of time trying to convince him that his story is indeed, a story.

The 73-year-old man hasn’t found a cure for cancer or won a million dollars, but his story is wonderful just the same.
