Recycling Plant Fire Leaves One Man Suffering from Burns

An aluminum recycling plant skid loader caught fire early Tuesday morning and left one individual suffering from burns.

An aluminum recycling plant skid loader caught fire early Tuesday morning and left one individual suffering from burns.

The Kendallville, Ind. Recycling plant, Aluminum Recovery Technologies caught fire around 5:30am and firefighters were called to the scene. As the crews arrived, emergency medical responders were tending to a man who had been operating the skid loader as it caught fire. His condition is currently unknown.

Firefighters had to move the skid loader outside of the facility before being able to extinguish the fire and the scene was cleared just before 7am.

Currently, the cause of the fire is unknown.
