OSHA Investigates Fatality at Republic Services Fort Worth, Texas, Plant

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating a deadly accident at a Republic Services Fort Worth, Texas, recycling plant.

According to a CBS 11 News report, firefighters said a 1-ton bale of recycled materials fell on a 31-year-old female employee and killed her on the morning of January 31. Republic Services released the following statement, according to the report:

“It is with great sadness for the entire Republic Services family that we learned early this morning that one of our employees will not be making it back home safely to her family. We are mourning the loss of our friend and coworker, and our thoughts and prayers are with her family, her children and loved ones.”

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating after a 31-year-old female employee was crushed to death by a 1-ton bale of recycled materials at a Fort Worth plant early Thursday morning.
