Apple Aims to Use 100% Recycled Metal for Components by 2025

Apple is working towards going completely green by making the claim that by 2025, the tech giant intends to use 100% recycled metals to create components for its products.

Apple is working towards going completely green by making the claim that by 2025, the tech giant intends to use 100% recycled metals to create components for its products.

The plan for the tech giant is to use 100% recycled cobalt to create its batteries and other recycled earth elements for magnets in Apple devices. Recycled tin soldering and gold plating will be used to create circuit boards.

Lisa Jackson, Apple’s Vice President of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives said that this is one step for getting the company to achieve the production of carbon-neutral products for 2030.

For its recent iPhone release, the iPhone 14, Apple developed a custom printer that digitally prints directly on to the boxes for the new phones, reducing the use of labels.
