Union City, Ind. – Autocar has launched an engine expansion program that will gradually phase in a variety of new Cummins and Caterpillar models every few months as the Volvo engines currently in use become discontinued. The engines will be available in all 2004 Xpeditor low-cab-over-engine (LCOE) trucks.

Autocar will kick start the program by offering the 285-horsepower Cummins ISM-EGR 285V and the 320-horsepower ISM-EGR 320V in the Xpeditor WXLL model in May, the WX in June and the WXR in July. Autocar also will offer the Caterpillar C-10 diesel fuel bridge engine and C-10 dual-fuel version available in WX models in June and WXR models in July.
