A plan to build a multi-million dollar waste management facility in Hampden is moving forward.
The executive director of the Municipal Review Committee, a group representing the trash disposal needs of nearly 190 Maine towns, updated the Hampden town council on the project at a meeting Monday night.
In December, the MRC announced plans to build a facility in the town’s “triangle” area between ammo industrial park, I-95, and Coldbrook road to replace the PERC waste-to-energy processing facility in Orrington by 2018.
